Kids break in apartment and almost start fire

Colorado Springs police report that three children entered a vacant apartment, put some twigs on top of the stove and turned on the burners. The twigs started to smoke prompting calls to police and firefighters.
The apartment was not damaged. One parent was served a summons for child abuse and a second parent for obstructing a police officer.
The burglary case against the children was exceptionally cleared due to their age. The children were released to their parent/guardian.
