A jury was chosen Friday morning in the trespassing trial of Douglas Bruce and Douglas Steinhagen. Bruce and Steinhagen are representing themselves in front of a judge and a five woman, one man jury.
People were distributing literature on jury rights outside the court, but the judge said the trial would still go forward. It is expected to last a few days. An earlier attempt at a jury trial three weeks ago ended in a mistrial after a man handed pamphlets to most of the jury pool.
Bruce is a political activist who was charged with trespassing after allegedly refusing to leave a store parking lot where he was collecting signatures on a petition.
