DENVER (AP) - Jurors have acquitted a Denver sheriff's deputy who was charged after she was accused of slapping a female inmate.

KMGH-TV in Denver reports a jury acquitted Deputy Anne Kelly on Wednesday of misdemeanor harassment and assault.

The inmate had been arrested March 25 on a drunken driving charge. Kelly's lawyers had argued the inmate was uncooperative and intoxicated and that Kelly was trying to maintain order in the jail.
