Judges downgrade Manimal in Slam Dunk Contest

HOUSTON - Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried earned a B- in his first showing of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. The judges approved of his authority but downgraded him for creativity.

His first dunk, a 360 off the backboard, wasn't considered clean enough and only earned him 39 of a possible 50 points. However, his between-the-legs dunk after catching it off the backboard packed a wallop and earned him a perfect 50 in the second round.

The top spot went to Toronto Raptors rookie Terrence Ross who leaped over a ball boy, passed the ball between his legs and threw down a one-handed slam. He picked up 58 percent of the fan vote during the championship round.
