Job numbers look good for Colorado

More than 7,000 jobs were added between December and January.
In El Paso county alone-- upwards of 5,100 job are posted today.
We spoke to those at the pikes peak work force center and those looking for work who say this brings them hope.
"We've seen the number of jobs picking up the hiring events we're hosting at the work force center and the number of jobs employers are posting on our website are picking up," said Dana Barton.
Barton is the business relations and employment development director at the Pikes Peak Work Force center.
While El Paso county has a higher unemployment rate than the state, she says they've seen an increase in the number of job postings.
Some probably due to seasonal employment.
"But it's looking good right now. There are today I checked over 5,100 jobs posted available today in El Paso county," she said.
She says most of the jobs posted are in health care or IT fields, with wide ranging types of positions.
"I'm hoping something positive will happen real soon I've been getting a lot more phone calls and emails, keep on trying that's all you can do," said Brian Barnett.
Barnett is a veteran looking for work. He says the center opened his eyes to different programs for vets.
"It's been tough, tough, over a year with the exception of a seasonal job," said Diana Shabouh.
Shabouh was in customer service, she's hopeful the computer classes she's been taking at the center will help her find something new.
"There's a job fair coming up on April 18th so I'll be there looking again, applying and hoping," she said.
The big spring job fair is Thursday April 18 from 11am to 4pm at the Doubletree Hotel in the Springs.
Those with the center say they've already got 45 employers signed up and they're hoping to have 70 total.
