The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment is teaming with the Defense Department to help veterans find civilian jobs.
The labor department on Tuesday said it is partnering with ESGR, or Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, to hold job fairs at National Guard armories across Colorado.
The first is scheduled May 15 in Denver, and the second is set for May 22 in Colorado Springs.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics says the average unemployment rate for Iraq and Afghanistan-era rose from an estimated 6.1 percent in 2007 to 10.2 percent in 2009.
