Tropical Storm Jimena is moving north along the east coast of Mexico's Baja California this morning.
It's been steadily weakening after making landfall yesterday on a sparsely populated area of the peninsula. The storm was once a massive Category 4 hurricane with 150 mph winds. But aside from tearing off some roofs and toppling trees and power poles, it appears to have done little major damage and officials say Jimena's heavy rains might help alleviate the drought in much of northwest Mexico.
At last report, the National Hurricane Center in Miami says Jimena's winds had fallen to 60 mph.
Forecasters say it will continue weakening as it runs north up the Baja peninsula.
