(AP) - An American Airlines spokesman says U.S. federal investigators will analyze whether a plane that overshot a Jamaican runway should have been landing in such bad weather.

The landing took place in a heavy rainstorm. Officials say the plane cracked in three places.

The flight from Miami with more than 150 aboard skidded to the edge of the Caribbean Sea. More than 40 people were injured, four seriously.

An American spokesman says most of those who were treated at a hospital have been released. More than 150, including crew, were aboard the 737-800.

One passenger says the whole flight was turbulent.
