The crowded contest to challenge Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet is getting a new player.

Former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton will introduce herself to voters in a three-city campaign announcement Tuesday. The Republican joins at least five others from the GOP who will seek to challenge Bennet next year.

Norton was lieutenant governor under Republican Gov. Bill Owens from 2003 to 2007. She did not seek the governor's office after Owens' final term and is currently executive director of the Denver Police Foundation.
