Arapahoe County Sheriff's officials say an inmate accused of first-degree murder jumped to his death from the second floor of a jail walkway.

Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson says 54-year-old Roberto Silva fell about 18 feet onto a concrete floor Monday morning. Robinson says medical personnel provided first aid after the fall but Silva died from his injuries.

Silva was being held without bail at the Arapahoe County Detentions Facility on allegations of first-degree murder from Glendale police. Robinson says investigators have determined Silva's death was a suicide.
