The State Department has confirmed that remains discovered in the Hotel Montana in Port-au-Prince, Haiti are those of a Colorado Springs man. David Hames was a videographer working for Compassion International when a massive, 7.0 earthquake reduced the hotel to rubble.

Hames is survived by his widow Renee and their sons Aidan and Zander.

Compassion employee Dan Woolley was rescued from the same hotel. He was injured, but survived.
