MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - Investigators in Oregon are trying to figure out what led up to the discovery of a woman and her four children in their burning home. Each had been stabbed.
Police believe the father stabbed them and set fire to the house. Fifty-one-year-old Jordan Criado is sedated and in stable condition after surviving the blaze.
Criado's wife and children - ages 2, 5, 6 and 7 - also were rushed to the hospital, but died.
Police plan to search the charred remains of the family home today for more evidence.
Investigators say hours before Monday morning's fire, Criado reported his wife missing. Officers found 30-year-old Tabasha Paige-Criado in the parking lot of a convenience store a few blocks away and gave her a ride home.
A few hours later she and her children were dead.
