Following multiple requests, News First 5 contacted Colorado State Patrol to inquire on the status of the investigation around the fatal accident that Killed Air Force Reservist, Capt. Vivian Elmo.

The Colorado State Patrol says they are still working to conclude the investigation where El Paso County Sheriffs Deputy, Rodney Fannin, reportedly ran a red light at Colorado Highway 24 and Curtis Road. The investigator with the CSP Accident Reconstruction Team has some final elements to wrap up before releasing the findings and determining what charges if any will be brought as a result.

The investigation is only being conducted by the Colorado State Patrol and any charges will be issued by them alone. The El Paso County Sheriffs Office is not conducting any investigation at this time.
