Layoffs.
A down Economy.
For some, it's been tough finding work. But one local entrepreneur is "re-inventing" himself, after his third pink slip.

Don Heaberlin says he's always wanted to open a coffee shop, so this time, he jumped! He took a gamble, using money from his 401K, and bought "Pikes Perk", in downtown Colorado Springs. He says, "I see layoffs as an opportunity..they're not fun..I wouldn't choose to go through that..but there's really opportunity to transition in your life".

He's certainly made the transition> And his advice to others? "If it's your passion and something you want to dig into, I think you'll do alright". Heaberlin goes on to say "Nothing ventured..nothing gained!!"

Over the coming weeks, we'll be bringing you more stories here on News First 5 on "Inventing a New You."
