The Colorado State University System Board of Governors has approved the appointment of Dr. Julio Leon to the position of Interim President of Colorado State University-Pueblo. Dr. Leon will serve as interim until a permanent president is named.
"Dr. Leon has been very well received on campus and within the Pueblo community," said Joe Blake, CSU System Chancellor. "He is both gracious and enthusiastic about leading CSU-Pueblo in this interim capacity, and I have every confidence he will be able to keep CSU-Pueblo on its trajectory of excellence."
Leon has 25 years as president of Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri. During his tenure he led the institution to university status, doubled the enrollment to 6,000 students, and oversaw capital construction of well over $120 million.
