Intel Corp. CEO Paul Otellini says the personal-computer market is pulling out of its slump faster than many analysts expect.
Otellini said at a conference Tuesday that he expects PC sales to be "flat to slightly up" this year from last.
That diverges from forecasts from market research firms IDC and Gartner, which have predicted that full-year PC sales will fall for the first time since 2001.
Otellini says the rebound is being fueled by the fact computers are "indispensable" in daily life.
