Inmate killed while working on truck

A Department of Corrections inmate died today at the East Cañon Complex DOC Fleet Service Station while working on a hydraulic dump truck.
DOC says that the incident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. The death is under investigation by the DOC Office of Inspector General.
The name of the inmate has not been released pending family notification.
The Fleet Service Station is operated by Colorado Correctional Industries. The shop provides preventative maintenance and repair services to DOC state vehicles. The Service Station employs five Correctional Industries staff and 10-15 trained inmate workers.
