Inmate identified in deadly dump truck incident

CANON CITY - The Colorado Department of Corrections has identified the inmate worker who died this morning while working on a hydraulic dump truck. George Kronsbein, 55, was working at the East Canon Complex DOC Fleet Service Station when he died.

Kronsbein was incarcerated on March 1, 2011 as habitual traffic offender. He was paroled on January 9, 2012 but was arrested in May of that year on a new charge out of Larimer County. Kronsbein's mandatory release to parole date was April 18, 2014.

The Department of Corrections Office of the Inspector General is investigating the incident. No further details were available.
