Here's what I'm working on today. Years ago, Lake Ave. in Pueblo was a hotspot. There was a drive-in located at Lake Ave. and Pueblo Blvd. Also, Lake Minnequa was a popular destination for boating and other recreational activity. But the drive-in is long gone and some of the old motels on Lake Ave. have turned into apartment-style living.

Now, the Urban Renewal Authority of Pueblo plans to make improvements to the Lake Ave. corridor. I'm going to interview a board member this morning about what changes they plan to make? And how much money they're going to spend?

Earlier this month, the City of Pueblo re-opened Lake Minnequa after removing tamarisks, old trees and improving the trail system. Also, the city has plans to build a new fire station next to the lake. Could this be the revitalization of the historic Lake Avenue? More to come.
