Immigrant sentenced in huge Colorado drug smuggling case

A 42-year-old Mexican man authorities say helped his brother smuggle millions of dollars worth of cocaine into the United States has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.
Immigrant Miguel Arriola Marquez was also sentenced Friday to four years of supervised released for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, distribution of 5 kilograms or more of cocaine, conspiracy to import cocaine and conspiracy to launder money.
Arriola Marquez was indicted in 2003. He pleaded guilty in federal court in Denver last year.
Prosecutors say the investigation into a drug ring operated by Arriola Marquez and his brother, Oscar Arriola Marquez, netted more than 2,300 kilograms of cocaine and more than $10 million in cash.
Oscar Arriola Marquez has pleaded not guilty in the case.
