The Pueblo City-County Health Department is investigating an illness that may have spread at a catered lunch Tuesday for the Pueblo Community Health Center.

The illness may have been spread through food, or human contact. At this point 27 of the 80 people who attended showed mild to moderate, though short-lived gastrointestinal symptoms.

"It is unfortunate this many people became ill at a community meeting," stated Dr. Christine Nevin-Woods, public health director at the Pueblo City-County Health Department.

The Health Department is looking for the cause.
