IED removed from home in Pueblo West, evacuations still in place

The improvised explosive device has been removed from the home on Karval in Pueblo West. The bomb squad has taken it to examine it and destroy it. Investigations continue inside the home to make sure there are no other dangers inside.

According to Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor they hope to be done in time for people to return to their homes in the area around the time kids are released from school, including Liberty Point Elementary.

We will keep you updated with the latest.

As of right now, Liberty Point Elementary is still under "shelter in place" meaning children cannot go outside of the school building.
