Ida comes on shore in Alabama as tropical storm

Tropical Storm Ida has come ashore near Mobile Bay in southern Alabama with top sustained winds weakened to about 45 mph (75 kph).
The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Ida's centerfirst touched land on Dauphin Island and was headed for the Alabamamainland later Tuesday morning.
Ida was moving northeast about 9 mph (15 kph).
