Iannetta's demotion among many Rockies moves

DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Rockies put starting pitchers Jorge De La Rosa and Jason Hammel on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday and sent struggling catcher Chris Iannetta to Triple-A.

De La Rosa and Hammel were injured on consecutive days. De La Rosa tore a tendon in his left middle finger on Sunday and Hammel strained his right groin Monday.

De La Rosa is 3-1 with a 3.90 ERA in four starts and Hammel is 0-2 with a 9.16 ERA.

The Rockies recalled right-handed pitchers Jhoulys Chacin and Juan Rincon and catcher Paul Phillips from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Iannetta's demotion comes after he signed a three year, $8.35 million contract in the offseason. He's hitting .133 with two RBIs and 11 strikeouts and he has lost playing time to Miguel Olivo.
