A special prosecutor's report into the grand jury proceedings that resulted in indictments against Pueblo businessman Tony Ianne was to have been released Friday, but last week the Pueblo District Attorney's Office filed a motion to keep it private.
It's the latest chapter in a convoluted mortgage fraud case.
The special prosecutor, Cynthia Kowert from Adams County, compiled a report on a possible conflict of interest related to Ianne and Pueblo attorney Randall Jorgensen. Since the claim came up in a secret grand jury proceeding, District Judge David Crockenburg sent the question of its release to Chief District Judge Dennis Maes. By law, the chief judge is in charge of the grand jury.
Jorgensen will now file a motion to release the report in Judge Maes' court.
