A tremendous turnout this morning at Gateway Park, along the Riverwalk in Pueblo for the 2014, Walk-MS, Pueblo. Nearly 400 walkers turned out for the annual walk to raise money and awareness about this mysterious disease that impacts some 100,000 people across Colorado and Wyoming.
We also took time to recognize all the wonderful work done in the past year, individually, and from our corporate teams, who have raised thousands of dollars for the cause. The top individual fundraiser in Pueblo is Michele Johnston, who raised nearly $2,500. The top fundraising team,
"Michele's Posse", which raised nearly $2,300.
I can't say enough how grateful i am personally, and collectively from the Quirk family for all you do all year long to raise the bar on providing money, resources and time to help in our quest to find a cure, and help the millions of families across this country who struggle with M-S every day.
If you are looking for answers for your particular situation, or for a loved one, you can call 1-800-FIGHTMS. It's a terrific clearinghouse for questions and answers.
Don't forget that the Colorado Springs M-S Walk, is next Saturday, May 17th, at Acacia Park downtown. Festivities kick off around 8 a.m., with the walk beginning at 9:30. Lots of music, food and family fun. And, be sure to go to KOAA.COM and click on the link to join "Rob's Team Pueblo", or "Rob's Team Colorado Springs".
It's an easy way to make a donation and to make a difference.
Thanks everyone for your support. See you at the walk next Saturday.
