FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Authorities have recovered 375 pounds of marijuana as part of an investigation into a report of suspicious activity at a greenhouse northwest of Fort Collins.
Larimer County sheriff's officials say investigators also have recovered 22 ounces of hash, prescription drugs, six rifles and a handgun in Bellvue during raids at three addresses.
They have arrested 27-year-olds Asa Ziebell and Katie McCormick of Fort Collins on suspicion of marijuana possession, possession with intent to distribute, and cultivation of marijuana. Authorities said Friday they expect more charges and arrests.
Sheriff's officials say they believe Ziebell and McCormick moved to Colorado two years ago from La Crosse, Wisc., specifically to grow and distribute marijuana.
Sheriff's spokesman John Schulz tells the Coloradoan (http://noconow.co/PvFQsc) the suspects said the marijuana was for medical use.
