It's Ash Wednesday. For Christians everywhere the day marks the beginning of Lent, leading up to Easter.

During the lunch hour in Pueblo, hundreds showed up for an Ash Wednesday service at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Pueblo's new bishop, Fernando Isern led the service.

The ash cross on the forehead is a symbol of death and sorrow for sin. Also, for many Lent is a season of prayer and fasting.
