This weekend the Starsmore Discovery Center in North Cheyenne Cañon Park will host the 18th Annual Hummingbird Festival.

The event will be on Saturday, May 7th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to welcome the springtime return of the hummingbird.

Each autumn the hummingbirds of the Pikes Peak Region migrate and fly southward. Luckily, in the spring they return to brighten our summer. The Hummingbird Festival welcomes their return with a daylong celebration that includes refreshments and live music throughout the day. Expert speakers on hummingbirds, a plant sale featuring plants that attract hummingbirds, children's entertainment and activities, a silent auction, and guided bird walks are featured.

Starsmore Discovery Center is located at 2120 South Cheyenne Cañon Road. Parking and bus shuttle transport is available at Cheyenne Mountain High School, 1200 Cresta Road 80906. Questions? Call the Starsmore Center at 385-6086 or www.tfocc.org
