An incessant noise reported by residents in eastern Pueblo County has been traced to the Comanche Generation Station, located southeast of the city of Pueblo.

The noise, best described as a "hum" is coming from the third and newest of the coal-fired electric generating facilities. A news release from the City of Pueblo says the noise is within all state limits for both night and day, but it is clearly audible near the plant. According to the City, Xcel Energy has "taken this issue to the highest level of their organization and they are committed to resolving the issue as quickly as possible."

Questions can be answered by Kathy Worthington at Xcel Energy at 719 549-3611.
