DENVER (AP) - Senate Democrats in Colorado have given preliminary approval to a bill allowing illegal immigrant students to pay in-state tuition at Colorado colleges. Republicans opposed the bill before a voice vote yesterday, saying it would provide an incentive for immigrants to come to the country illegally. The Democratic sponsor of the bill says immigrant children should have a chance at a college education.
