TODAY: Breezy and hot again this afternoon with high temps at least 8-10 degrees hotter than average! 91 today in Colorado Springs and 97 at the State Fair in Pueblo. Winds today will be out of the south/southeast at about 15-25 mph at times. Underneath the ridge of high pressure there will be enough moisture for a storm or two later this afternoon, but the chances for many of you will be quite low. 20% chance over Teller County & Monument Hill/northern El Paso County. Colorado Springs will only see about a 10-20% chance and the chances over the Wet Mountains and Sangre de Cristo's are even lower....about 10%. For the rest of southern Colorado it should be toasty and dry.
TONIGHT: The good news about our weather this time of the year is that it cools-down nicely each even. Tonight we'll see temps drop to the upper 50's for the Springs and Pueblo.
TUESDAY-FRIDAY: Weather the rest of the week sounds like it will stay hotter than average and dry. Chances of storms stay at 10% or less for the Front Range and non-existent for the plains. As much as a 20-30% chance for more storms over the higher elevations. By Friday temps will hopefully be about 4-6 degrees cooler than today and tomorrow.
SATURDAY-SUNDAY: Just a touch milder for the first weekend of the new month of September, but still mostly dry. Weather in the mornings for the Colorado Springs Balloon Classic sounds great so far with mild temps and fairly light winds. High temps Saturday and Sunday will be in the lower 80's in the Springs and near 90 in Pueblo. Chances of storms will be nil for both locations to as much as 20% over the higher elevations.
