Police say a doctor who was hospitalized is suspected of stabbing a nurse and trying to leave the hospital.

Lone Tree police accuse 53-year-old Grady Michael Holder of asking a nurse into his room at Sky Ridge Medical Center Saturday night and stabbing her in her upper arm.

Police released details of the stabbing Wednesday. Police say Holder then changed clothes and threatened hospital staff with a knife as he tried to leave. Police say he was eventually restrained by hospital staff. The nurse was treated and released from a hospital.

The Denver Post and KUSA-TV report that Holder was being hospitalized for alcohol abuse. Holder is still hospitalized and faces charges of attempted-first degree murder, menacing, and second-degree assault.
