Honor Flag memorializes CSPD Officer Matthew Tyner

The funeral for Officer Matthew Tyner is Tuesday. Ofc. Tyner was killed in the line of duty a week ago when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Austin Bluffs Parkway.

The National Honor Flag travels the country, memorializing people who sacrifice themselves for their family, community, and country. The flag made a stop in Colorado Springs Sunday. It was scheduled to stay in town through the funeral on Tuesday. News 5 was asked to film the ceremony officers held as the flag arrived.

Following Officer Tyner's funeral the flag will be flown to Texas where a Waxahachie police officer died in a car crash with a suspected drunk driver over the weekend.
