PUEBLO - Homicide is added to one of the suspects' list of charges in the suspicious Pueblo death case, police say. Kasai Ciofassa, the suspect now facing charges of Felony Murder, was taken into custody along with Donna Tortessi on Tuesday. The couple is tied to the murder of Elizabeth Johnson-Miranda of Pueblo.
Officers arrived to Johnson-Miranda's residence Sunday night when neighbors called 911, saying smoke was coming from her duplex. When they entered the duplex, officials found her body. Her 2008 Chevrolet HHR was also missing.
The suspects are being held on unrelated charges of burglary and Ciofassa is also facing a charge of motor vehicle theft. Officers recovered her missing vehicle when Tortessi and Ciofassas were taken into custody.
As the investigation continues, Tortessi is still a person of interest in the case.
No bond warrant was signed for Ciofassa's arrest today.
