Homemade submarine from second-hand parts

An amateur Chinese inventor has used parts collected at second hand markets to build his own submarine.

The main body of the submarine was made from metal barrels.

According to the inventor, the interior is a bit cramped and can hold only one person, although there is enough room for pressure meters, monitoring cameras, a TV, and an oxygen tank.

He's currently working on a periscope.

The sub is about 21 feet long and can dive up to 32 feet.

So far the sub has only been used in the relatively shallow waters in and around Beijing because it's very big and very hard to move.
