It's one of the first things you see when you enter Pueblo on I-25 from the north.
The "Home of Heroes" sign was in need of some clean-up, so volunteers through the City Volunteer Program took time to pull weeds and pick up trash.
They were slightly surprised with the number of weeds they found.
"With the sign being there, with everything that's going on, it's just that uplifting kind of area with the heroes, and it needed it, too," said Lisa Dugger, City Volunteer Coordinator.
Their next project is to clean up after the State Fair, and last year, they collected 40 bags of trash around the fairgrounds.
