Police continue looking into what caused a home invasion and shooting in Colorado Springs on Saturday.
One man died. Police say two men armed with a gun came into a home on the corner of Winnipeg and Tahoe. The homeowner also had a gun and they shot at each other.
One of the robbers may have been hit and one suspect showed up at Memorial Hospital and died. Police aren't sure how he got to the hospital.
Neighbors said the shooting was shocking.
"I saw that the front door had been kicked in the house over there so I figured that something had happened," says James Moore, a neighbor from just down the street.
Moore was at work during the home invasion, but hears neighborhood kids were out playing nearby at the time.
"Just to come home and see all of this just had me shocked on what's really happening," Moore says.
Police are looking into connections between the intruders and the homeowner.
"Whether or not he knows who they are I don't know but they didn't go through the door the traditional way and knock the doorbell," said Sgt. Steve Noblitt of the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Employees say a gunshot victim came to Memorial Hospital at around the same time and later died.
Police are not releasing information about the man who died. As for how he arrived at the hospital, police are still investigating. They're also trying to find the second intruder. The only description they're giving is of an average-sized, black or Hispanic male.
