Home invasion in the Springs, safe stolen

A woman and her 2 year old boy were assaulted Sunday afternoon after two men broke into a home in central Colorado Springs.

According to Colorado Springs Police, two men broke through the back door of a home on North Weber Street just after 12:30 p,m. The victim told police the men demanded money and marijuana, which was being legally grown in the home for medicinal purposes. Investigators say the woman was struck in the head by one of the suspects. Her 2 year old son was also hit with the pistol. She was able to get her infant daughter and call police from a restaurant on Fillmore. The suspects got away with a safe. Police are still looking for the suspects.
