Hit and run accident lands man in jail for DUI

An early morning accident in Colorado Springs lands one person in jail. Shortly after 2:00am Saturday morning Police and emergency crews responded to a traffic accident in the intersection of S Academy Blvd and Platte Ave.

As crews were arriving it was learned that the driver of a white Honda Civic had ran the red light and struck a silver Chrysler Sebring. Officers gave chase as the driver of the white Honda fled on foot. The suspect was later located at Bijou Street and Auburn Drive and taken into custody.

Police identified the suspect as, 25 year old Bryan Cutkomp who was found to have 1.47 ounces of marijuana in his possession pre-packaged for possible distribution. Cutkomp was also evaluated on scene for DUI and found to be impaired. There were no reported injuries from either party involved in the accident according to police.
