Highway 24 now open near Florissant

Highway 24 is currently is now open between Divide and Florissant after a serious two vehicle traffic accident.
The Colorado State Patrol says the accident happened just after 5:00 a.m. Sunday when a pickup truck going east crossed the center line and collided head on with an oncoming Toyota sedan. The driver of the Toyota was airlifted to Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs where she is in critical condition. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured. Neither vehicle had any passengers.
The State Patrol is investigating the crash. It is not known at this time if alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident.
The accident happened on the eastern edge of Florissant.
