High winds and rare funnel clouds blow through southern California

Powerful winds have caused extensive damage to neighborhoods in California. On Thursday afternoon, witnesses in Ventura say they saw a wind funnel that hit neighborhoods there.

Police report that the funnel traveled more than 11 miles. It knocked down trees and ripped shingles off rooftops.

No injuries were reported.
