A High Wind Warning is in effect for much of Colorado today. Winds Monday morning have regularly hit the 50 mile an hour range in Pueblo, in the 60s in Colorado Springs and more than 80 on Monarch Pass. The warning is in effect until 6 p.m.
The warning affects Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Walsenburg, Trinidad, La Junta and Lamar. Basically everyone in the southeast corner of the state can expect to battle gusty winds today. There is also a high wind warning in effect for the San Luis Valley.
Those in high wind areas can expect power outages, and blowing debris. Motorists should be cautious, especially those in high profile vehicles. Motorists should also watch for areas of blowing dust, which can quickly reduce visibility.
A tree limb in the 1500 block of Cyprus in Pueblo blew on a power line, causing sparks. Similar calls have been common in Pueblo. Limbs are scattered over the Elizabeth Parkway on Pueblo's northside.
Trees fell over and are blocking the road in the 700 block of E. Boulder, 800 block of E. Monument, and Union and Vickers inj Colorado Springs.
