High school student organizes 5K for cancer benefit

A high school student in Pueblo organizes a 5K called "Jog for Jill" to help those with cancer.

Erin Aldag, a senior at Centennial High School, heard of Jill Costello's story.

Jill was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in 2009.

She went on to lead her rowing team to many titles and graduate from UC-Berkeley, however, she lost her battle to cancer in 2010.

Many 5K's are held each year in Jill's honor, so Erin wanted to participate.

"I read her story, and we're really inspired by how courageous she was and all that she did," said Erin. "How she went through all of her chemotherapy and all of the radiation and how she was still on the crew team at her college."

All funds will go to the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation.
