A red flag warning for a high fire danger is in effect for our metro cities and Teller County for Sunday afternoon. Like in recent days afternoon storms will fire up, but these storms really won't bring any beneficial rain. These storms will be high based storms with most of the rain evaporating before it reaches the surface. This type of storm behavior really only brings gusty winds, and dry lightning. The extreme heat wave will continue.
Sunday forecast:
Colorado Springs: 20% chance for an afternoon storm, high 93
Pueblo: 20% chance for an afternoon storm, high 101
Monument: 20% chance for storms, high 91
Teller County: 20% for a storm, high 84
