Hewlett-Packard plans to cut 9,000 jobs over the next three years, while adding 6,000, for a net loss of 3,000 jobs. The changes will be made to beef-up profitable sectors while slicing money-pits.
HP has facilities is Colorado Springs. The company has been contacted to find out about local impacts, but there's no word yet.
Once it is completed, HP says the changes will result in savings of about $500 - $700 million a year.
HP co-founder David Packard was originally from Pueblo, a graduate of Centennial High School.
