The Cesar Chavez Academy school board has named a former superintendent to head the embattled CCA and Delores Huerta Preparatory High School. Dr. Henry Roman has forty years experience as an educator. He is a retired District 60 superintendent.
Roman has agreed to a one year contract. He will run the schools on a day to day basis, as well as look for his own replacement.
Both charter schools have been rocked by an audit that seemed to show widespread abuse of finance at the two schools. The top administrators of the schools were terminated last year.
