A new workforce center to help the unemployed find work has opened in Fountain.

The Pikes Peak Workforce Center opened the office at the Fortman Community Center in Fountain. Users can access many of the services available at the main office: job search assistance, labor market information, employment workshops, and computers with Internet access.

"With the high numbers of unemployed in the Pikes Peak Region it is critical that PPWFC makes its services easily accessible to those in need," says Dana Rodenbaugh, VP for PPWFC. "For people who are on a limited budget traveling to our main office may present a challenge. So, with the help of the Pikes Peak Community Action Agency we are reaching out and can offer services to residents in a facility closer to their homes."

The Fountain office is located at 501 E. Iowa, (719) 382-8515. Hours are Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 5 p.m.
