Help for displaced families with pets

Residents displaced by the Waldo Canyon Fire and having trouble finding a place for pets are being offered assistance from National Mill Dog Rescue, part of North Shore Animal League of America. They'll be stationed at the El Paso County Disaster Recovery Center located at the former county Department of Human Services building (105 N. Spruce St., Colorado Springs).
They'll have a Mobile Rescue Unit on-site and they say they're available to house displaced dogs and cats safely and securely. They'll be available as long as needed.
National Mill Dog Rescue will also have volunteer help and pet supplies available for evacuees.

The county Disaster Recovery Center is open - with a wide variety of resources - daily from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. as long as needed. On the 4th of July they'll be open from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
