Colorado Springs' oldest high school football rivalry will not be played under the Friday night lights this year, but rather in the Saturday afternoon sunshine. The Helmet Game between William (Billy) Mitchell High School and Roy J. Wasson High School will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Gary Berry Stadium.
The Helmet Game is one of the more competitive high school rivalries in the region with the Marauders holding a slight lead of 24 victories to the Thunderbirds 23.
Just before kick-off, the JROTC programs from each of the high schools will take field in a joint Veterans Day tribute.
